I am interested in finding narratives in the marks and impressions left in our surroundings. The depth of lines, the intensity of a scratch and the layered quality of patterns and marks are accumulated and distorted over time. To me all these elements carry a small moment of an individual’s life, the mark left behind acts as a photograph or a memoir of the person who left it. The vessels I create are layered with different marks and patterns, building these layers with these pieces are a vital part to creating attachments and building memories through the making process.
I am currently studying for my Masters at the School Of Jewellery in Birmingham, still working with the theme of identity through marks. My BA graduate work has been exhibited in New Designers and in the Making Space Gallery. I am also excited to be selected to exhibit some of my work as part of Talente 2015 in Munich this March.
